Network scheduling policies have made NO sense to me for many years now.

Indeed not...I can see the reasoning behind doing it with a show like, 24, they are smart there it seems, they wait until January to apparently air them consecutively. I can also see a break for a sporting event (as much as it annoys me) and the holiday season (no one is watching TV, and if they are usually specials), but come on...
