I read somewhere (can't remember where now) that originally she was supposed to be, but they dropped that plot element. Who knows, maybe that's how it will develop over time.

As for the show on the whole, I'm not terribly interested yet. JW shows have never really grabbed me (the closest being Firefly). So far, Dollhouse seems to be little more than an excuse to have Echo dress up in various scanty outfits. But I will continue to give it a try, mainly because I am enjoying FBI Helo and I like to see Reed Diamond get work.
