Does this sound vaguely familiar

Hey guys, I think I was dreaming about a Star Trek book I read quite a while ago, In it I believe there was a Klingon, I'm not sure if it was Worf or who, but they were traversing a frozen tundra area and using a Klingon beast of burden called a S'tarahk. When I checked Memory Beta, the only reference it had for the S'tarahk, was the TNG novel Kahless, I don't believe it was that book, I've read it again within the last 6-7 weeks and though I do remember the mention in it of a S'tarahk, it just doesn't seem to match up with the other disjointed memories of the book I'm thinking of. If any of this sound familiar please let me know and if I'm hallucinating it might be good to know that also, LOL Keep on reading!

I have not read it yet, but judging by its cover, Diplomatic Implausibility by Keith R.A. DeCandido might fit your description.

I don't think so, I read the Gorkon Line of books about every 3 months, a great series, I sure wish they would bring it back.:klingon:

They look like ordovers - with forehead bumps.

From the description it sounded like an Elway to me.

I just can't bring enough of the thoughts together, But It seems like it's some type of quest he's on, might no be on Qo'noS but may one of there Kuve worlds At firstI thought I might rhave remembered it was the Left Hand of Destiny, but I'm almost through book two for the fourth time. Memory Beta also says, about the s'tarahk: This beast's guts were also used to string tran'nuc. (New Worlds, New Civilizations short story: "A Warrior's Path")

So, were you remembering the Klingon story in NWNC? Michael Jan Friedman wrote both NWNC and "Kahless".

I don't believe so, I'll have to dig out NW/NC and check it out.:klingon:

No need, I just pulled it off the shelf and skimmed that segment. It's mainly about a ceremony or something on Ty'Gokor with Martok and Clone Kahless. There's nothing in it like the tundra scene you describe. The reference to the s'tarahk is a single line, the gist of which is given in that Memory Beta entry.
