Does Picard Become Prof Galen in this series? ("The Chase")

Did anyone else make this connection even before we had the trailer?

Stewart said we would be seeing a "very different Picard" traversing the galaxy. I immediately figured he'd go on archeology hunts in his little ship while waxing philosophically to students.

Sure enough, he dresses just like him. And has a little ship. Will this show be a lot of archeology trips interspersed with political allegory episodes? Sounds good to me!

I thought about this too when I first heard information about the series. A way of carrying on his mentor's legacy after he had to leave Starfleet after whatever happened.

While I think Picard's love of archaeology will pop up from time to time, I get the sense he's more like Obi-Wan Kenobi from A New Hope--except without the Force and a lightsaber.

It looks like the person who started this thread is no longer with us, but I will be adding 'The Chase' to my watch list in preparation for the new series. 'The Gambit', parts one and two, might also be worth a watch.
