Does J.J.Verse starfleet know about the romie's and vulcans?

Well, ignoring points repeatedly made in a thread isn't very polite, you know...
As far as I'm aware, I was not ignoring your points. I do feel very sorry for hurting your feelings. :D

And how many other races have upswept eyebrows and pointed ears?
Quite a few, actually. The Vulcanoids in the Orion system being only one of the examples. Besides, a lot of species seem to look superficially like humans. Who's to say that the Vulcanoid look isn't just as prevalent, as far as the Federation knows?

THAT is the point. That shouldn't have been the case, considering the content of the TOS episode BALANCE OF TERROR. Nobody at that time knew the Romulans were vulcanoid. So how could anyone have just taken it in stride 30 or so years earlier?
The Kelvin didn't know they were romulans. 3 years later, the Enterprise did. A lot could have happened in that time. It's a new timeline, after all.

A threat? LOL! Don't make me laugh. Now people communicating with you is a THREAT?
Please re-read the post; some people do make typing errors you know, I fixed that within a minute or so, short enough for no 'edited by' message to appear.

Besides, even common sense would seem to suggest that the word 'thread' would be more likely in that context then 'threat', don't you think? If you're not sure what someone means and something sounds strange and out of the blue, please ask for clarification first. :D

Back ontopic:

The fact that 3 years later, the cadets in the Federation knew the Romulans were related to the Vulcans does have interesting possibilities. Perhaps it would preclude the treaty of Algeron being signed? Or, if it was signed earlier, make it invalid? That would free the way for a Federation using cloaking devices, perhaps even precluding the Romulans for trading with the Klingons -- therefore the Klingon's, wouldn't.

In my eyes, the destruction of the Kelvin raised some questions. Especially as the survivors identified the attackers as Romulans. As such, the Federation might have been more insistent on meeting the Romulan Empire face to face, thus having the knowledge of their shared ancestry.

HELLO?

Did you even READ what I said above?
Given that the timestamp on your post is only four minutes earlier, did you consider at all that DiSiLLUSiON might not have seen it at all when beginning to reply? (I know it's difficult to contemplate that everything is not in response to what you say.)

You don't have to shout like that, it isn't proper netiquette.

Well, ignoring points repeatedly made in a thread isn't very polite, you know...

Sometimes a snoring person is shaken to get them to wake up.

<snip>

THAT was the question, and you kept ignoring it and answering something else.

EDIT: Also, please do not PM me with the same reply as in a threat. If I want to reply, I'll reply in my own time.

A threat? LOL! Don't make me laugh. Now people communicating with you is a THREAT?

No no no.

Others talking to you isn't an example of threatening. Please don't feel threatened by someone just talking to you and pointing out something you missed.

People will get the wrong idea...

Start avoiding you...

Whispering about you.

Starting rumors that you're really Romulan...
Knock it off, gastrof. You're sounding creepy.

I think the simplest explanation is that the writers chose to overlook a strictly loyalty to TOS lore in order to expedite the plot of the movie.

It looks to me, in context, as if what DiSiLLUSiON meant to post there was not "same reply as in a threat" but "same reply as in a thread." Just a typo.
