Does EVERYTHING have to be about politics with some people?

It's like the people who bitch that Boston Legal became too political in the last few seasons, it was always that way!

People (It seems more so right wingers) see everything is a liberal force against them. Frankly I just think people worry too much about stupid shit, like a 35-40 year old TV show.

To me, the downfall of Harriet Jones was more an example of the Doctor's dark side than of a politician being bad. While I absolutetly disagree with the choice she made, I can understand why she did it.
The Doctor deliberately set about to change history and look what happened, instead of 'Britain's Golden Age' we got the Master nearly destroying Earth. I love the "Don't you think she looks tired?" scene because it shows what politics really is about (rumours and emotionalism, not reason). And the worst thing is that he does it out of spite because she doesn't believe him he can bring her down with a few words. Ten had a number of rather dark moments.

But did she make the wrong decison? Like she said, the Doctor isn't always around, and the loss of Harriet not only gave Harold Saxon a window of opportunity, but also by extension PM Green...

Seriously, an advanced alien race just tried to enslave our entire race, then turned around to leave and we're supposed to take their word not to come back or tell others about us?

I don't know about dark moments, Ten had a number of hypocritical moments...

As I said, I understand her reasoning but I'd disagree on moral grounds with her decision. It's pretty clear in hindsight that the Doctor made the wrong decision here, due to motives that aren't very honourable no less. Considering what happens later on because of this, I'd count it as one of his dark moments.

people who analyze the politics of fiction are reading way too much into a writer's story arc.. it's fiction..

Right or wrong, good or bad, most writers will insert his/her viewpoint into a story at some point, even if its subconsiously. That might be a viewpoint on love, politics, art, humour....anything, but they probably will do it at some point.
