Does anyone remember U.F.O. by Gerry Anderson in 1969?

younger kids might like it.

Start them with the episode about Straker's divorce because of his devotion to his job, and then the one about his having to choose between using one of his aircraft to save his son's life or stop a UFO that only that craft can reach in time

An episode that gets misremembered a lot. Straker doesn't make any such choice. He uses the SHADO plane to fly in a special drug that could help his son's condition. But it's Colonel Freeman, taking advantage of the plane being in the air earlier than scheduled, who diverts the plane to the UFO incident without informing Straker.

Sorry for the bump but just watched this ep.

Yes Freeman makes the decisoion to redirect the transfer but Straker doesn't say or do anything to countermand. Infact he does't even confided wjth Freeman (who is after all his closets friend) about his son's condition.

Couple of other observations as I've been going through them.

All though the moon base wigs get rmembered I'm not sure on the logic behind the skydiver uniforms with tops that are more like something you'd wear in cold weather (large open weave thermal where the idea is traps warm air next to the body) which didn't leave much to the imagination when it comes to the women.

And probably one thing that would change if it wad made today - - a lot less smoking.

But they had flesh-colored tops under them, which the men didn't.

So, by "flesh-colored", you mean the color of that Crayola crayon that I had when I was a little boy, but that is now called "peach"? ;)
