Does anyone remember Star Trek: Voyager - Elite Force

I think I still have it around here somewhere, but doubt I can find the manual with the serial number to re-install it.

Just pirate it. It's on The Pirate Bay. I lose my serial key ages ago. It's not like Activision is selling it anymore and it's not on Steam :(

I really wish they'd release it and Armada on Steam, but that will probably never happen :(

I remember having great multiplayer fun with mates. We'd put in a dozen borg drones with no weapons but have them respawn immediately... endless swarms... quite scary!

I never got to play online because I had dial-up. :(

I played CTF on a 56K. Not terribly well, mind you, but if you do specialities as a Demolitionist, the mines and detpacks made it possible to be useful.

Did anyone ever play Green Destiny's specialities server?

I should say- this wasn't online. We'd literally drag our computers to one house and network them together.

Was there any reason given for Jeri Ryan not voicing Seven in the original game? Scheduling conflicts, joined the series too late to record game dialogue, refusal, etc?

I don't think we know anything for sure. My first reaction is that she may have though that doing the voice over on a video game wasn't worth it, as she was still new to Star Trek. But that's just personal conjecture and shouldn't be taken for fact or even rumor.

It may be that they couldn't offer enough money and then after the game's success and development of the expansion, the cost was no longer an issue. But that is also personal conjecture.

I used to love this game, I always remember running around the academy/headquarters and with enough time being able to vaporise the NPCs :D

Elite Force is great! Definitely one of the better Star Trek console games.

Never played the PS2 version. As I understand it received a much lower rating and sales were worse for it than the PC version. Also a shame that console users missed out on the expansion pack and online play.

Good point. I never played the PC version, but I heard it had better graphics and lacked the frame rate issues which appear in the PS2 version. Regardless, I still had fun with it on the PS2.

Yeah, I had the PS2 version also. When I saw that it ran on the Quake III Arena Engine, I thought, oh this is gonna be great....and then, well....the frame rate issues kicked in, but that was the only irk I had in an otherwise fun game.

EF2 (PC only) was also very enjoyable. I liked Chell..he was hilarious. "Yeah, just remember that the light at the end of the wormhole is actually an inbound photon torpedo!" :D
