I do, especially when it's injected with garlic. I prefer the dark meat, and I look forward to making soup after the holiday.

Smoked Turkey is amazing. Roasted Turkey for Thanksgiving is pretty good. I usually mix my mashed potatoes and gravy with it, though, instead of eating it by itself.

I only really like the dark meat myself. White meat just tends to be too dry and isn't as flavourful.

We were going to have duck this year but I got an awesome deal on bulk-turkeys.

Each worker-unit got a frozen Turkey at the end of work Monday... that's a lot of frozen bird-units let me tell you!!

Saved one for myself, so there was really no reason to go out and buy a duck then.

Sure, I like Turkey. I have it probably every couple of weeks in TV dinner format, and then on Thanksgiving and Christmas in big-ass feast format.

I love turkey. When it's properly brined and roasted it has lots of flavor, and is juicy throughout. Smoked turkey is awesome too.

My dad used to cook turkey in a fryer. Then he got rid of it. Made me mad when he did that, because I love the kind of turkey that comes out of those things.

Okay, okay, there was the minor issue of a garage fire, but that's just nitpicking.

'round these parts we call that "smoked turkey."

I work with the local volunteer fire department. We have three tiers... First tier are the folks who are almost always on call. Second tier gets activated when there is a shortfall in manpower or first tier is on call. I am third tier, as a result I seldom go out.

TODAY however... If this keeps up I'm going to end up at a call or two. FOUR turkey-fryer fires before nine am, then it tapered off. Then we got three more, and I was told to "stand by." It's tapered off again, but I suspect we'll have another crap-burst in a couple of hours or so.

Turkey remains for me that "twice a year food" for Thanksgiving and Christmas. I can't seen going though the hassle of it several time a year beyond a breast or a leg or something like that.

Properly cooked, it's good.

I like it enough. It's not amazing, but the emotional memory of the holidays is enough for me to like eating it.

Just to be perfectly clear, I’m talking about the food, not the country.

Do you know, you prompted me to look up why the food and the country share a name. I never, ever bothered to do that before.

Damn you for making me learn things on Thanksgiving.
