Comics are actually quite rare in the annuals, they were usually full of prose stories. Your go to reference should be the 1986 Doctor Who special...it was basically an extra big annual with Colin Baker on the front that reprinted loads of World annual stories from every Doctor. Like that awesome one with the transparent walls n the Tardis while it’s being eaten by a giant space slug thing.
I had no idea there was still much of an independent publications scene around Who.
Hmm.. Good point, I think I have a super collection of DWM from the TV comics stories on to most of the series up to 2016 in PDF or CBR format.. "Don't ask me how I got them" but I will pull that one and take a look as an example. I guess for me, what ever makes the book feel authentic is what I sshould be doing. Nice, great little piece of advice there. I will check out the 86 book. Yea, there's been an interest in recent years, sparked by fears of a possible wilderness year start from the failing ratings and the uncertainty of where the show will end up in the future. I suppose also, many fans like myself have been toying around with Fan pub ideas for awhile now, and just finally either decided to do it, or just said I am finally at a point in my life where I have the time to get to it, so lets go for broke! I would say the latter was my final decision on doing these books, with renewed commitment to the TARDIS MSAGPI or (Ms. Agpi to remember the Acronym better) LOL
