Weird coincidence or hidden clue? What does it all mean?

It's a pity they didn't put any actual effort into the changes, because on a purely technical level the credits now look like something a fan knocked up on their PC rather than a professional piece of work that (some of us) have paid for.

I reckon that voice that said "Silence Will Fall" will shout the answer out of one of those cracks in the the finale of series 14b.

Yeah, I find the visuals of the title sequence are murky and a bit fuzzy now, lacking in the crispness they had the past two seasons, almost as if they're in standard def.

it obviously means that the Valeyard, Rani and Master are returning. oh, and the Black Guardian.

That's rather extreme all at once, even with a full compliment of Doctors returning.

Though, I suppose it would be pretty neat, to see each of them, in their own episode, that ends with a connection with the 11th Doctor Arc for the Season. Maybe, every other episode is 11, and every other episode is a prior Doctor. One featuring the Ice Warriors, another maybe The Master, The Rani or Similar Time Lord Menace/Adversary, etc, and all of the previous Doctor Episodes, plus all of the 11 episodes tied up into a White/Black Guardian Bow (...Or something :alienblush:)

Because I haven't been watching the series consistently, can someone tell me why the time vortex now looks like a thunderstorm instead of the RTD purple vortex thingy?

Because the Moff thinks his stories are more electrifying?

I don't think there's any actual explanation though maybe others know better?

They don't explain stylistic changes to the title sequence in the show, for some reason.

Have we seen inside the vortex during Moffat era? I can't remember. Does "The Doctors Wife" count?

Also, when River uses the vortex manipulator in "The Pandorica Opens"(?), it shows lightning bolts crackling around her, instead of a mini-vortex as in "The Sound of Drums."

I assume that as a sixth-dimensional object, the vortex can be rendered a number of different ways in three dimensions. This isn't the first change, and it won't be the last!

very much enjoyed the pinkness of the time vortex on this week's credits... i don't think we should take too much from the variation. just take it as being a little variation to go with the different title card each week :)
