Doctor Who time-travels to late slot in Saturday night TV battle

Danny Cohan does seem a little dim, especially if he greenlit that GOD AWFUL "Tumble".

So Who gets a lead in from the biggest show in TV and suddenly that's a bad slot?

Ok it goes up against X-Factor but that's weaker than it was and a Strictly lead in is a lot better than Don't Scare The Hare or Tumble!

The overnights will go up at a stroke and everyone else can still watch it on catch up - not seeing the issue here.

Isn't it traditional that the early evening shows on a Saturday are terrible? Don't scare the hare, hole in the wall etc, nothing new here.

Yeah people are getting scared over nothing, especially in this age of time shifting, iPlayer and BBC3 repeats.

8:30pm is really a late timeslot in the UK? Geez, here in the States, prime time starts at 8pm. Most family shows are on in the 8 to 9 pm timeslot.

No, not really late per se, but it's late here for a family show that appeals to very young children. That said, the current series does seem to be geared towards a slightly older audience.

This might be an appropriate place to put this, but feel free to move it somewhere else:

Well, different audiences like different things, so what is big in one country isn't in another. Doesn't actually seem too surprising really.

Along with Who and Top Gear Strictly is one of the Beeb's top shows, in fact the reason every other country has a dancing show is because of Strictly (and they're probably paying the BBC for the idea.)

Here in America, we have Dancing with The Stars (People love to insult it and call it Dancing with the Has-Beens).

It gets alot of guff in some circles, but, obviously someone is watching it, because it takes two nights of the week, and ratings are big. So, just because a show gets alot of Guff from segments of the population, doesn't mean it doesn't rake in the ratings with the General Audience.

Dancing with the Stars isa licensed version of Strictly, and has/had? two of Strictly's judges in Len and Bruno. I beleive there's been some crossover in professional dancers as well.

Personally, I loathe all those Strictly Come X Factor's Got Talented Voice programmes but they appear to be big ratings winners, so what do I know?

Exactly, along with The Bachelor/Bachelorette, Amazing Race, Survivor....

The only long running reality show I've gotten into has been Big Brother, and I've gotten tired of it now as well. Though, I did enjoy the Rock Star INXS and it's first Season.

I really like Strictly, and I don't mind the Voice (especially in the early stages) but that's it really.
