Doctor Who set/on location reports thread

Not to create a political debate, but Kevorkian was far from evil

That's what a lot of people thought, but I've always found it deeply suspicious that the only people he "helped to die" for a number of years were women. He didn't start taking male "clients" until questions were being asked about his exclusive focus on women.

Not to mention that several of the people whose lives he ended were not in the final stages of incurable terminal diseases, and could have lived long, productive lives if they'd had someone to help them overcome their despair rather than encouraging them to surrender to it. Think of Stephen Hawking. He was told in the 1960s that he only had a few years to live. If Kevorkian's kind of "help" had been available to him at the time, we would've been deprived of one of our great scientific minds.

Yes, I'm pro-euthanasia (where the person involved is making an informed and uncoerced choice) but Kervokian always seemed a little too keen to end lives for my liking.

New set pictures

Moffat's really hammering in the "dark" tone of season 8

Ooh, I've spotted the first clothing variation; Capaldi has a dark blue shirt on instead of white. Meaning his outfit may indeed evolve.

He's not being filmed yet in that picture, is he? I think that's just Capaldi making a facial expression while he gets ready for the shot.

That's intriguing. I don't want to jump to conclusions yet, but that certainly would be something cool for the new season.

Squee!!!:D

That said it's probably just some kind of DVD extra or something similar...still, you never know... ;)

Nevertheless, enjoy the internet while you can, as fan explosions are likely to bring it down soon!

Well, Neither seem to be in costume, but it could easily be simply because they're wearing overcoats between takes... That said, Janet was nice enough to do the "Five-ish Doctors" thing last year, and has done a couple audios since she moved back to the UK, so she's probably not adverse to doing something for the franchise proper again.

Hooray for the Gobby Australian!

Mark

More than a couple of audios. In addition to "The Gathering" from years back, she's done more than a dozen in the last few years, both main range and Lost Stories, with a couple more coming out soon.

Either way, that photo is great! I don't expect an actual appearance, but it would be very cool of there was one.

FWIW, the Uk's been quite nice for the last couple of days, but was pretty cold before that (though not as cold as usual around the start of the year. We got floods rather than ice and snow). So overcoats on-set while not actually shooting would fit with any day except the last few. (We're going colder again now).
