Doctor Who scheduling - question for UK viewers

Depending on how long the episode is 6:30-7pm is a good slot for Doc Who though I would prefer a stable 7 slot.

its worth saying that the episode is always going to be at least 6:15pm (assuming a 45 minute episode) since BBC3 does not start till 7pm. So that is the earliest Confidential can start.

Can't the BBC just plant Doctor Who on at, say, 7 PM on Saturday

They pretty much did that for 4 whole seasons, aside from the odd one off change.

Series links on DVRs are a lot smarter than just recording at a specific time every week. TiVo's are even smart enough to find a repeat if higher priority shows clash.
