Doctor Who S7 Wishlist

Wishlist for season 7.

More dark Doctor. I love it. Especially Smiths dark Doc. Smith's Doc is all hyperactive and excitable but when he's angry he's a damn good dark Doctor. Beast Below, impossible astronaut, doctors wife, demons run to name but a few.

Obvioulsy not really dark, it's a kids show after all. But all the same he's good at it.

Also, as much I like cybermen, they don't do it for me anymore. Neither the Daleks. Angels yeah, ok they're steves, so well give him that. New monsters, original ideas and more space travel.

I want to see Mars when it had water and probable life, although in Who it will intelligent, but mars with water and plants a few million or 1 billion years ago would be awesome. Ok RTD did it in present(ish) day but it's a cool idea.

Just space travel in general would be cool.

Not keen on returning companions, RTD did that to death and even had a few family reunions every other finale.

New original companions, new fresh faces and takes on the concept.

More tardis interiors, it's a big place, lots to explore.

Loads of stuff that I can't be bothered to type anymore.

Personally, I prefer the darker side of the Doctor we saw in The Girl Who Waited or The God Complex over Angry Doctor. Of course, Angry Doctor has his time and place too.

His performance totally sold it, you knew that the Doctor had decreed it and for the rest of his life Manton would be known as Colonel Run-Away! That was a lot more effective than Tennant's Timelord-Victorious in my opinion, Tennant had to make it clear that was what he was doing, Smith - you just knew...

I agree. The best part about it, for me, is how the Doctor seems to stumble on his words when he realizes just how angry he is. It's a feeling he's not used to, and he has no idea how he's going to react. Probably my favorite line: "Good men don't need rules. Today is not the day to find out why I have so many." That, followed by Madam Kovarian's clearly frightened expression make it my favorite scene from the entire series.

I'd love to see the interactions between the 11th Doctor & Captain Jack. (I have this image in my head of Jack actually being not that attracted to the 11th Doctor and the Doctor feeling a little miffed about that. Bonus points if Jack flirts with Rory instead.)

While Season 6 wrung every last bit of interest out of River Song's backstory, I still wouldn't mind seeing her as a companion in an otherwise unrelated story, like "The Time of Angels"/"Flesh & Stone."

I'd definately like to see a pure historical that doesn't involve aliens or the supernatural. They did it all the time back in the William Hartnell years and I'd love to see them try it again.

The Doctor meets Freddie Mercury.

Returns of classic series companions like Susan, Ian, Jamie, & Zoe. Bonus points for bringing in quirky expanded universe companions like Frobisher or Iris Wildthyme.

there's also the bit where they bring back an old villain in the series finale, after telegraphing their return in an earlier story.

Dalek --> Dalek army in POTW
Age of the Cybermen --> Army of Ghosts
crippled bloke in a wheelchair in VOTD --> Davros in SE/JE

and i'm pretty sure someone pointed out something which foreshadowed The Master's return as well...

Well, there was the introduction of the fob watch & the Chameleon Arch in "Human Nature"/"The Family of Blood" that explained how the Master hid from the Time War in "Utopia."

Series 1 arc - there's a word and in the last episode you're going to find out what it means
Series 2 arc - there's a word and in the last episode you're going to find out what it means
Series 3 arc - there's a word and in the last episode you're going to find out what it means
Series 4 arc - there's lots of words and in the last episode you're going to find out what it means

Series 5 arc - there's a visual effect and in the last episode you're going to find out what it means...but in the mean time it's going to be important to the stories rather than jurt being a wink wink (also we're already setting up the series 6 arc, in a way you won't even notice until later!)

Series 6 ar...HOLY SHIT THEY KILLED THE DOCTOR THEN BURNT HIM!

Agreed this is very funny!:guffaw:

Beyond that, I didn't think the Season 4 arc was a bunch of words but rather the recurring theme of missing planets-- the Adipose breeding planet in "Partners in Crime;" Pyrovillia in "The Fires of Pompeii;" the lost moon of Poosh, which was briefly name dropped in "Midnight."

Don't forget about the BEES!

In S7, I would not like to see the Silence. If they show up again, then faking his death and all of S6 was for nothing!

No daleks or cybermen . . . but I don't want them to be idle either. I want them to be doing something while they're gone so that when they return, it will be awesome.

I'd like to see a historical.

And the return of some old foes that haven't been seen since Hartnell or Trouton. (Yeti? Sensorites? Krotons? Dominators? Cave of Skulls?)

I doubt they'd do it, but I'd love to just see hints of the Daleks at work. The odd shadowly glimpse of one trundling along, or a Dalek voice over a com channel.

That would be so cool, as long as it is not just a setup scene for a badly written episode, ie Victory of the Daleks, which I have watched but cannot stand for some reason.

The best Dalek moment of the new series was the one asking if folks wanted some tea. Everything else pales.

Want to see:
Sontarans and/or Rutan Host
Ice Warriors
Clyde & Rani
The Eighth Doctor
More history stories, either sci-fi or true historicals. Roanoke Island would be an interesting one.

Do not want to see:
A season arc
The Silence
The Daleks (save them for the anniversary year)

One thing that would be quite interesting to see in 2013 would be some of the good Time Lords (Romana, etc.) coming back; a cliffhanger to that at the end of this season would be interesting.

I would happily cheer if Romana returned but who would play her if Lalla Ward turns down such an offer?
I doubt she would, considering that she's done quite a number of audios, but if she does, they could always explain it as a regeneration.

Rachel Weisz. Make it so.
Considering recent crossover news, shouldn't that be "make it geronimo"?

Hmmm ....did some looking on internet and found some pictures of this Rachel. She does in some of them have a 'Romana' look about her.
As for my favorite Romana-Ms Ward-how would they bring her back and explain her not being with the rest of the High Council in The End of Time? I was really looking forward to seeing her in that two-parter.

Easy: The Time War didn't go well under her leadership, so a more radical faction of Time Lords replaced her.
