I have recently started watching Doctor Who and I to purchase the first season on DVD. Doe anyone know if the Christmas episode that connects season one with season two is with the season two dvds or is it a seperate purchase? I want to show this series to my dad and I doubt give what happens at the end of the first season he would understand season two without that christams episode. Thanks for your help

This is taken from the 4th season review at DVD Verdict....

BBC Video's Doctor Who: The Complete Fourth Series brings us the uncut 13 episode series, the 2007 Christmas Special, and more special features than you can shake a sonic screwdriver at.

So yes the X-Mas episode must be on the next DVD set.

The first Christmas Special is on the Complete Season Two DVD set. The second Christmas Special is on the Complete Season Three DVD set. And so on.

All the Xmas Specials are available singly as well.

As for the most recent- I suspect we'll see a "The Five Specials" collection of The Next Doctor thru DT's swan-song - but for obvious reasons it'll have to be around Easter 2010 rather than November 2009 (as November would be *before* the last two have actually aired!)

It should also be noted that in addition to "The Christmas Invasion" being on the Series 2 set, there is also that special scene that picks up right after the new Doctor says "Barcelona!" and nicely explains stuff that happens and doesn't happen prior to the opening of "The Christmas Invasion."
