Doctor Who & Blake's 7 - the same universe?

The book The Colony Of Lies mentions an Earth Federation which could be the one in B7 which later becomes the Earth Empire seen in Frontier In Space & The Mutants

having a look through the Tardis Wiki, there's been no one screen mention of a Terran federation but it has been in some books and comics. Was thinking it had been mentioned in the Frontier and Space but was wrong on that (and it predates B7 by a few years).

There is the Kaldor City series of audios that puts Doctor Who and B7 in the same universe. Kaldor City home to Uvanov and his Sandminer crew and where Carnel (B7 "Weapon") ends up after fleeing before Servallan gets her revenge. Not to mention one Castor Iago who may or may not have once gone by the name of Kerr Avon (fwiw it's worth Paul Darrow says not).

In of the audios doesn't Iago mention various adventures he had which sound suspiciously similar to some B7 episodes?

The MSC symbol in Death To The Daleks looks like the Federation symbol

B7 is conveniently lacking in actual dates. It's about 700 years since humanity ventured out into deep space (Killer), but maybe this is just the latest time that happened, with records of older ages lost in a past catastrophe.
Conveniently, Killer also establishes a reason why aliens (Vulcans, Klingons, Centauri hexapods, etc) might be confined to their homeworlds by the biowarfare of the Darkling Zone aliens.
So basically, B7 could fit into any 1000 year gap in the history of other series. If you assume they all end awfully!

We didn't see much of Space City, maybe there were some Ogrons, Draconians, Alpha Centaurians, Monoids, Terliptils etc, living it up there
