Did they ever release a DVD that had one part of the series in cartoon form? I remember years ago them talking about how they had the audio for all episodes of a six part a story, however they lost 1-2 of the episodes video so they were making cartoons to fill in.

^You're thinking of the eight-part Patrick Troughton Cybermen story "The Invasion," of which only six episodes exist in the BBC archives. The DVD of the story combined fan-recorded audio of the soundtrack from the two missing episodes with new animation of the video portion based on camera scripts.
