OH, FUCK YES! *TERRORIST FIST PUMP*

WOW

yeah. *ahem* that was pretty good.

gonna be a long week...

-I'm not sure who Devros is, but damn I like him already. Can't wait to see how that ends up next week

he's the Dalek founder, showed up in a lot of 4th Doctor/Tom Baker episodes... not sure how often he's showed up since then, or if he has at all.

I got into Doctor Who in 2005 with Eccleston. Saying he appeared with the 4th doctor kinda means nothing to me. ;)

Btw I just thought, maybe his ability to regen could have been altered when jenny was created. I mean, when she died she didn't regen either..

haha, yeah, I hear you. I watched the PBS reruns when I was a kid which was mainly Baker. when BBC started the new run, PBS lost their contract on the old episodes.

you should watch some of the old stuff, the effects are adorably cheesy, but the writing is excellent.

Douglas Adams actually wrote a few episodes- "The Pirate Planet" is on my Netflix queue and looks cracktackular!

How they managed to transform Ianto from a boring cardboard cutout to one of the most awesome characters ever is something I'll never understand.
I love Ianto! He's cute too! :techman:

Wow, that was fantastic! I for one would be thrilled if he regenerated back to the 9th Doctor, but I know that's not likely. Can't wait to see what happens though - sure looks like he's regenerating!

Ianto: "No broken bones. Slight loss of dignity. No change there then."

In ev'ry job that must be done

Though quite intent in his pursuit
He has a merry tune to toot
He knows a song

Omigodwtfthatwasbrilliantlyfantastic!!!1!

Loved every bit of it! I can't believe the cliffhanger was the best kept secret in the universe!

Come on, next week! Come on!!!!!!

How apt, given I'm pretty sure they said that Calufrax is one of the planets now within the Medusa Cascade.

Hmmm, Callufrax Minor listed first as one of the planets missing. Callufrax was one of the 6 components to the Key to Time. Fangasm shoutout or a clue?

Whoops, this was already mentioned by The That's what i get for posting before reading everything.

I always had this fanboy dream of all 13 Doctors coming together to stop some ultimate foe, and their TARDIS' forming a circle around said foe... but what if next week Tennant regenerates into Baker and on and on up the line of Doctors before coming to settle once more Tennant. RTD' gift to the hardcore fans.

I'll go back to dreaming now that that's out.

Quick history of Davros.

* First met Tom Bakers Doctor on the planet Skaro where the Kaleds and Thals had been fighting a thousand year war, basically leaving the planet an irradiated ruin. Davros was the nazi-like Kaleds chief scientist, disfigured by a enemy nuclear attack on his research bunker. The Daleks were what the humanoid Kaleds would eventually mutate into. Davros simply accelerated the process a bit and started growing his own mutants and sealing them in support capsules.

* Tom Baker met him once more when the Daleks return to Skaro to dig him up to help with a stalemated war.

* Peter Davison met them once when the Daleks try to rescue him from an Earth prison station to help find a cure for an anti-Dalek bio weapon.

* Colin Baker met him once on a mortuary planet where the incurably ill were frozen for later revival. Unfortunately Davros is secretly harvesting the bodies and turning them into a new breed of Daleks.

* His last appearance is with Sylvester McCoys Doctor where he's made himself the dalek Emperor. The last we hear of him onscreen, he's headed for an escape pod.

You know I've not been the biggest Rose fan, but even I felt bad for her during the conference call. And even I got a bit teary eyed when they were running toward each other.
But I do remember thinking, "Thats an awful long distance. This be the worst possible time for a Dalek to show-D'OH!"

I liked how the new Davros referenced the original mask rather than Terry Molloy's Ena Snarples visage. Great bit of design.

What fuck knuckle decided I have to wait a week for the next episode. :klingon:

Seriously great episode. RTD has been fantastic this season.

I think RTD's always been fantastic. He knows how wide the fan base is, and that it includes a large number of children. So yes, he has his clever sci fi and big story arcs, and then once in a while he drops in a comedy episode written especially for the kids, and they love it. So yeah, those episodes aren't meant to be high brow, and have giant green aliens farting, but that's there to please a large group of the fans of the show, it's just not the group most of us are in.

Well... I gave it an above average as it had - as some mentioned over on the Mausoleum Club site - rather too many kitchen sinks thrown into it.

I thought Davros was rather well done, visually speaking, even though I'm a long-admitted Davros hater...

However... THAT regeneration! What a genuine surprise! It's a long time time since we've had such an unexpected cliff-hanger. I can only imagine my kids' generation of fans sqeeing with glee over it (as, I'm sure, I would have done had this occurred thirty years ago)...

Who's up for a temporal paradox with an alternative Doctor that sorts itself out later-type storyline...?

A question about that mad Dalek who predicted things, was that the Dalek from 'Daleks in Manhatten'?

However... THAT regeneration! What a genuine surprise!

If we have a new Doctor next week and going forwards and we just saw Tennant's last episode then the BBC have genuinely pulled the greatest cover-up of all time.

HOWEVER - going as far as to fake filming for the Xmas special to cover it up? Now THAT is ambitious, could it be this regeneration gets reset buttoned, or will thanks to his hand the Doctor regenerate into Tennant again, or even have the process interrupted?

Could such a cover-up actually be pulled off?
Have we seen Tennant's last episode?
