Wanda could only dreamwalk and see into other Universes where she had a living counterpart, so she wouldn't have been able to look at Universes where they were orphans cause her version there would be dead.

If the corpse was still there she could have gone zombie-alternate Wanda like Doctor Strange did.

Wanda never even got around to picking a universe to go to anyway. Getting America's power was always step one, no matter which universe she chose to go to. The only reason this specific version of Wanda and the kids drew the short stick is because they lived in the universe where America and Strange were hiding.

That only worked because Strange very specifically knew about that corpse. Wanda wouldn't know what was going on with any corpse versions of hers she found.

My handwave is that the TVA didn’t have an accurate understanding of their own mission, just a good-sounding cover story. Their job was to avert variants of Kang, so in actuality, they may not have been maintaining one timeline, as they thought, but we’re actually grading any timeline as acceptable so long as it either led to the version of Kang who ended up as He Who Remains, or no Kang at all. Whatever happened beyond Kang’s eventual fate (or existence) was totally irrelevant to their true mission, so their gee-gaws and doo-dads might not have even shown them timelines where Earth was destroyed or Thanos wasn’t defeated.
Yeah, I figure what they did was like grooming a bonsai tree.
Not just a single stem or line, but make sure the different branches and leafs didn’t grow out of control and maintained a desired shape.
They were fine with splitting off timelines, as long as they didn’t redline.
We always had multiple timelines, they just stayed very similar and close to each other in a lab orderly torus shape.

notice how the visuals from the series finale didn’t show a single strand, it was a big stem, or a tight but thick bundle of lines.

So I just watched a fun little short on YouTube where the creator of the clip has an interesting theory.

The Darkhold still exists.
Basically, the book was a copy of the original spells and runes and everything on the walls in that temple. Wanda destroyed all the books throught out the multiverse and the temple.
Interesting tidbit from Dr Strange 1, where Mordo asks him how he learned all the spells from the book of Cagliostro so quickly. He responds that he has a photographic memory and that's how he got through medschool.
We see our Strange going through the Darkhold looking for the right spell, probably remembering everything he saw. Meaning the Darkhold exists in Stephen.

I know, silly little thing. But I always love how some enthousiasts can really get into little details like that.

Actually, that makes a lot of sense and correlates with his third eye. The question is did Stephen go through the whole book or does he retain only partial knowledge of the Darkhold.

I'm guessing we'll either find out in the sequel when Disney sees that video and realizes they missed a huuuuuuuge plot point and work with a fan theory.
