Always and i also always take some toilet paper and at least wipe the toilet seat.
I've also made it a rule never to visit a restaurant or any other eating place if they don't take care of their restrooms.. dirty restrooms means a dirty kitchen and that's the end of it.

I wash always
Its good way to keep away the germs.
One has to remember though, that there is washing and washing. Some people just wet the hands under the running water for second or two and then proceed to dry hands.
I rub mine with some soap on them for about 30 seconds at least, ringe them and dry them well afterwards

Always. I teach kindergarten. One learns quickly the importance of washing, and washing well.
Yes, always. Although in some public restrooms I went to I'm wondering if I don't get more germs on my hands by rinsing them...

I use my own hand sanitizer. Does this count?
I always feel awkward about it, though...see, personally, I would rather use it AFTER I've touched the nasty door handle one last time (i.e. after I am already out of the restroom). However, if other people are in there where they could see me, I feel socially compelled to apply sanitizer in their presence so I won't be seen as the gross woman who didn't wash her hands.

(BTW, is that a yes or no vote for me, if I use sanitizer instead of the public fixtures?)

Sorry but the 6 people who put 'sometimes'......just eww. It's people like you who spread nasty germs around make the rest of us sick.
I wash both my hands AND my naughty parts in the sink. For some reason I get a lot of stares.
At work, since I handle food, I always wash my hands afterwards.
If I'm at home and I'm going to cook, I wash my hands afterwards/before I cook.
If I "#2" I always wash my hands. (As the nature of wiping may have caused a bit of a... "breach.")
If I "#1" and I'm at home I pretty much just rinse them in warm/hot water and then dry them. (Urine is mostly sterile and I only touched my own skin so I see no "need" to do a full soap wash.)
Or we help your immune system get exposed to diseases so it can, you know, strengthen. Living a sterile life isn't healthy.
