Do you wanna see "Haywire"???

Gina Carano could actually beat up most men though, it's not just acting. ;)

And won't it be nice to have someone like Gina to contrast a pencil stick like Kate Beckinsale in the female bad-ass supersoldier department?

Sure.

Kate plays a Vampire though, she doesn't need to look like a fighter to have the strength of ten men, so I can overlook it.

I do, however, hate it when a dainty little 120 pound actress plays a (mortal, unaltered) woman who supposedly has "training" that enables her to beat the shit out of numerous, trained assassins twice her size. Never mind that they'd shrug off her punches and probably break her in half.

So-ooo.... a female-centered action movie fails to make much of a commercial splash, and has a weak story/emotional core. Color me surprised?

Interesting that this opened the same week as a female-centered action movie that made a big commercial splash [Underworld]...

Anyway, I saw it and liked it. Like others have said Gina is not the best actress ever, but she fit the part, the supporting actors were good, and the action was very good.

Loved the fight scenes in this movie. Unfortunately there were only about six of them.

Also, the ending was kind of abrupt. I can understand why Soderbergh ended the movie there, I mean it's pretty easy to guess what happens next, but I was totally caught off guard when the credits started rolling.

I didn't mind that it ended where it did. We got the picture. What I did mind was the storyline, which was rather unmemorable, and if not for the story being told out of chronology, awfully straightforward. The action was good, though. I wish there had been more of it.

How long into Haywire 2 goes straight to DVD?

Saw this last night, I dunno I think maybe I just don't like Soderbergh films. I found Contagion a bit dull and lacking in tension and this was pretty much the same. She was a better actress than I expected but was still too bland to hold the central role without someone else, and unfortunately everyone else just drifted in and out, with only Douglas and Fassbender making any real impression (I was actually shocked at how bad Paxton was) and all told I think this was one of the longest 90 minute films I've seen.

Nice fights though, and anyone else wonder if Banderras thought he'd signed up to make a Castro biopic instead?
