Actually it isn't bad. It's massively better than Mel Gibson or Doohan (whose accent was always a great source of hilarity to us when we were kids).

Mel Gibson can't even do his own accent, let alone a Scottish one. Can't get any worse than that, I think.

Yes, they should make him English, not Scottish.

They should've gotten a Scottish actor to play Scotty, since Pegg isn't Scottish they should change the character to that of a Englishman.

Indeed. When they cast James Doohan to play Scotty back in the sixties, they should have changed the character to that of a Canadian, too.
