Do you know anyone from TrekBBS IN REAL LIFE?

I've not met a single one, but there are several I'd really like to meet, and lots that I know I would enjoy meeting should the opportunity arise.

It's an interesting group, the BBSers.

Me, I know absolutely no one in real life from TrekBBS. You guys are just avatars and text to me :(

I've never met anyone IRL, there are only a couple posters from my area. I'd intended to try to meet some of our european posters when I was over there this summer, but I was just too busy.

I'm going to be in NY sometime next December, hopefully I'll get a chance then.

Beyond Maestro, I have had good times with jkladis, Top41, AlphaMan, Raoul the Red Shirt, TV's Frank, Jenna, Worf412, The Leafman, Spock's_Beard, Misfit Toy, PKTrekGirl, mrcoaster, Jenee and the elusive Spiff. I'm sure I'm forgetting folks, too.
 
I've met up with Venhardi on a number of occasions throughout the years. I also went to a meetup a while ago and saw a bunch of people there, but most of them seem to have disappeared from the board since then.
 
Alas, no, I've never met anyone from the board in real life -- I was supposed to take in a film screening this past summer with another BBSer, but those plans unfortunately got scuttled.

I'd certainly be up for a get-together at some point in the future... I know there's plenty of board members who live in the Toronto area. We should arrange something in the Meet-ups forum one of these days.
 
I've spoken to a couple on the phone, communicated via Real Mail with a couple more, and met a total of one. And there's one whose train goes by my house a couple of times a day. :rommie:

I knew one guy who never clicked it, and then one time he did. Six months later? Hit by a bus. Enough said.
 
Let's see... just off the top of my head, I've met doubleohfive, Bears Discover Fire, TJinLOCA, Sheniferous, Shameless McBundy, alpinemaps, Eratta, Angry Angel, KRAD, TerriO, Trippy, Warped9, Dusty Aires, species5168, and garamet. There are a couple of folks whom I see regularly but who don't post here much if at all any more: Rosemary, Evil_Admiral, and Chrinfinity. I think there might be a couple more, but I'm blanking on who they might be. I was also recognized when I was in Washington, DC last year by someone who only lurks and who recognized me from one of the photo threads.

Hmm, maybe there's something to the joke in Toronto fandom that I know everyone...

I've talked to Philo on the phone a couple of times, but we've never managed to hook up when I've been in Montreal despite the fact that I've been there about four times in the past year or so (though one of those times was when I was Events Director for the Worldcon and I was a little too busy for much socializing). And I recall talking on the phone with FrontLine for a few minutes during the meetup at the 2006 Worldcon in Los Angeles.

Yes. I'm pretty good friends with exodus, donkey, and JonathanWally. Have met up with Robert Maxwell twice and just met sidious618. Our meet-up was centered around NYC's Village Halloween Parade. Reminded me of the Three Dog Night song, Mama Told Me Not To Come. Nice group of folks! -- RR
