Do you have Nimoy's books?

I have "I am Not Spock"

I particularly enjoy his memos to Roddenberry. You can see Nimoy was passionate about the integrity of the show and his character.

I have both of his autobiographies, and I'm a vegetarian, myself, so I'm pretty sure I would have noticed if he'd mentioned being a vegetarian in them. As far as I can remember, he doesn't.

I just read his son's autobiography yesterday. Yes, Adam Nimoy has something he calls an "anti-memoir" -- My Incredibly Wonderful, Miserable Life -- and in this book, he says that steak is one of his father's favorite foods.

So according to his son, Mr. Nimoy was NOT a vegetarian.

Edited to Add: I've edited the Memory Alpha page for Mr. Nimoy, removing the attribution of vegetarianism.

I took a different tack and found a couple of mentions of steak being his favorite food.

I guess sometimes a myth can spread so far as to affect legitimate institutions, and make it believable. My mistake.

I have read both "I am not Spock" and "I am Spock" and thery're very good. Actually very funny. I would encourage any nostalgic Nimoy fan to read them. They provide a lot of insight into the early years of TOS and Nimoy's personal struggles (and later, acceptance) with being identified as synonymous with Spock to his fans.
