Do you guys want pon farr in the 2012 sequel

I have been reading a lot of fanfictions and pon farr always plays a huge part in most stories(wonder why).

Am sure Zachery Quinto will do a good job playing Spock going into pon farr (he just needs to bring a little bit of sylar)

However I hope it doesn’t happen in the 2012 sequel, the pon farr thing fits more on TV than the entire big screen.

I think they'll definitely strip Spock of his emotional control in some way. How else are they going to get him to tearfully admit to Uhura that he loves her? I'd prefer they go the "Naked Time"/"This Side of Paradise"* route, but Ponn Farr would work too.

*They've already borrowed a bit from TSoP, so that's where my money is at this point.

I think that should be the 'B' Plot for the movie, with a separate 'A' Plot*. Not the whole focus of the film.

*A Plot being a darker redo of the events of A Wolf In The Fold, if I had my way.

Pon farr is pretty popular with Trek fans. They themselves have statistically only a chance to copulate once every 7 years. Most of them don't.

My impression of Quinto's performance in Star Trek is that he's already brought "a little bit of Sylar" into it. First time I saw the film, I commented to a friend afterwards that he felt like a barely-contained version of Sylar.
