Do you believe in magic? (I hope you do)

Honestly, I do, but not in the sense of the supernatural. Like having someone near when sick to boost spirits, like the emotion that takes you over when seeing something breathtaking (for me, the best is seeing the ocean), even the way nostalgia can take you back to good times (or bad), there's magical elements about it.

So... not magic. Not in any meaningful sense of the word.

Do you believe in magic?
Guess the answer is...

NOPE

Magic? Nope. I believe in my own intellectual and emotional capacity to appreciate the power and beauty of the ocean, the kindness of a friend, or a peaceful moment of contentment.

It's not magic. It's my own willingness and ability that allow to enjoy or be affected by these things, not "magic."

Isn't 'magic' merely what happens when an unstopable force meets an unmovable object?... when Rodgers met Hammerstein, when you meet your future spouse, when a Lennon meets a McCartney, when hot water meets ground coffee-beans, when a cat meets a lap???

yep, I want to believe.

I believe it's magic is a song I enjoyed on the Ghostbusters soundtrack.

On topic, I can appreciate the OP's sense that "magic" can be a good metaphorical descriptor.

By definition (which I meant by magical elements) magic exists, even in the metaphorical term.

Stop stealing the magic of the thread disbelievers.

I saw Penn & Teller's show during the late 80s in Chicago. It was one of the funniest and fascinating acts I've seen, with no fancy pyrotechnics or animals*.

* = Except for the part where Teller's head is surrounded by a cage, and Penn dumps starving rats on top of him.

I love Pennypack Park. I've always wanted to be close to it and I am, now. There are many old bridges, dating back to 1919-21 and some overgrown foundations and chimneys left over from mills built there in 1799. There are sections of stone wall, here and there, along the smaller foot bridges, that are reminiscent of Medeival Times.

The way the Bubbling Brooks there glitter in the sun almost appears magical, to me. A few people even go horseback riding, through the park - often bareback. It's nice to see the hot female joggers in their tight shorts, I won't lie. It's even possible to get deep enough into the park where the sounds of traffic are less than a whisper.

It breaks my heart, how beautiful it is there. I see deer, ducks, chipmunks and squirrels all the time. And ... when I come across all of this natural charm and echoes of yesteryear, I can't help myself ... I feel like if there's anything that's still Innocent and Magical in this world, it is here, in this place. One could enter this park with the weight of the world on their shoulders and walk out of it inspired. If that isn't Magic ... then, I don't know what is.
