Do wastebaskets exist in Star Trek?

And yet, there are no storage closets that I've ever seen, but that's another discussion. :)

I remember one -- Troi got hit with a red laser in somebody quarters (maybe hers) and fell back into an open closet.

I also seem to recall, I think it was in TNG, somebody in quarters presses a wall panel and it opening automatically to reveal a wall drawer.

There were also wall storage units in TUC, where they found the incriminating boots.

Kirk's cabin has this safe where he keeps his captainly things, as seen in "Little Girls". But every occurrence of the set supposedly features the same fixture (although not always with those buttons); what does McCoy keep in there, say? Also, the lower walls of the set are lined with these protrusions that might well house more storage space than just the evident "safe", only more seamlessly concealed. McCoy has those topped with books and skulls, but what lies underneath?

Then there's of course the big cylinder that was supposed to rotate to reveal more than just the mirror that Kirk uses for applying his makeup every morning. (Or did he return to Rand's quarters? Is that in fact second nature for him, evil or not?)
