do those Sketchers shape up sneakers really work?

I need to get a new pair of sneaks soon & I do alot of walking (to the bus stop, evenings, etc) so I was thinking of getting these. I think theyre kinda ugly but would get them if they really do what they claim to(& are comfortable to wear.) Anyone have them?

I have them and I love them. They aren't a replacement for exercise but they definitely make you use different muscles. I find them comfortable to walk in but you might take awhile to get used to them.

Yes, they make you lose about $40, almost immediately...

absolutely,

Haven't tried Sketchers, but I've had a pair of MBT's -- the original brand that Sketchers copied -- since last spring, and I absolutely love them. If I don't wear them for a week, I definitely feel them working muscles that I don't usually work when I'm just walking. So, I don't have enough info with which to recommend the Sketchers, but I do highly recommend the MBT's. (Unfortunately, they're very expensive.)

So which muscles is it?

I've seen those sneakers in the shops but I've never seen anyone wearing them. I live in a very hilly area, I'm afraid I might fall over walking up my street.

So, I just bought a pair today, and you're telling me that I'm going to grow a hot, female ass if I wear them? Great, just what I didn't need!

I've worn my MBT's walking up and down hills, driving, etc. and never had a problem. The only thing I don't do in them is get on my stepladder.

thanks, well Ill see how much they cost first, but if they at least help tone my legs it might be worth it.

and Ziyal hope youve been feeling better! :)

They're $110 at Kohl's. I paid $70 because they were on sale. I've had them less than 24 hours, and I'm walking taller, I feel better, and while I've felt no pain in my legs from working a different set of muscles, I'm also feeling no pain in my joints or back, which is a significant improvement!

^ whoa they are pricey...I think Ill pass for now. Ive got to many other expenses I have to save for right now(thanks dry eye).

I know two women who have bought them and several weeks later have commented that their knee problems were going away. Take that for what its worth.

Sketcher's stores were selling them for $69 and up around Christmas.

I can't say I've looked at any evidence one way or the other, but intuitively I would be shocked if they actually improved fitness levels or helped weight loss in any significant way.

I would totally buy evidence suggesting they worked different muscle groups though, and even possibly helped correct posture a bit, and that would likely have some significant knock-on benefits if one currently had aches and pains exacerbated due to poor posture.

Since I rarely wear any sort of sneaker, I can't say I'm particularly inspired to research the matter though. So overall, put me in the "apathetic agnostic" camp.
