Do they still sell Jelly Babies?

Bassett's Jelly Babies are the original and the best.

I used to think that, too. Now they have switched to "natural" flavours I don't really care for them any more. Co-op's are my favourite. Still full of lovely e-numbers, and half the price! :)

If I were of a more trusting nature, I'd offer to take the black currants off your hands. Those were my favorites.

Sadly yes, it costs a bloody fortune to ship JB's to the US.

You're forgiven for being less trusting. Ultimately, most of the vile black currant JBs got tossed at squirrels.

No, I don't like squirrels, either.

Yes. Cost Plus usually carries them in the US.

Yep.. Saw them there just last week... That said, I made a big batch of my own for last season's premier and they came out amazingly well! I used a red chile rasberry filling for half the batch. El Yummo!!

Are they a specialty item in the UK, or something you can find at any corner shop?

I've browsed online and damn, you'd think they were made of gold for what they're charging for the things.

I prefer the Haribo little ones, Bassetts all taste alike no matter the colour.

Same here. I'm not a fan of the texture of Bassetts Jelly Beans.

The big versions of the Haribo one's aren't that nice though. Not that I'm really meant to eat lots of sweets. :shifty:

they're pretty common. most convenience stores or supermarkets would stock them in their confectionary sections.

I'm not sure if the Sainsbury's I work in actually sell bags of Jelly Beans. We're a mid ranged store and our confectionery range isn't that big.

Most stores of the major retailers in the UK (Tesco, Asda, Sainsbury's, Morrisons and the Co-operative) will stock them.

When I lived in Ohio, there was a grocery store with a very robust international food section (Jungle Jim's) which had jelly babies in its UK aisle.

I've seen them at the Price Chopper in Connecticut, but I unfortunately don't live near one anymore.
