Do I suffer from a non-existent condition?

I mean, really!? is it a midlife crisis or is it maybe delirium vernale? or could it be simply just because...

I've met a man!

It happened early this March: A guy I'd been mailing, chatting, telephoning with for years - and I, happened to meet on-line some late night, both boooooored out of our skulls... Short story shorter: he was all: come out to my place, and I was like: I'll catch the first bus in the morning, and he said: grab a cab, be here in thirty! -I did and I was.

And I had the best time of my life!

Bears repeating: I had the best time of my life!

Is this normal? Do people just 'click' like that normally? - Maybe once or twice in my life have I met people I got along with from the get-go, but never on this scale.

He's turned my life upside-down -in a good way- and we've both become rather infatuated with each other over the last couple of weeks... Subtly changing our profiles on the ('dating')-site where we met, to the extent that people there have figured out what's going on and have started congratulating us on finding each other :rommie:

I spent Easter at his place. When he was on his way to work, the day after Easter, we couldn't find the key to the lock on the chain he'd put around my neck* so he had to cut it... but of course he had a new one and I got released wearing his chain around my neck, with a new lock -just for me... It's the best feeling I've ever had... I feel like SQUEEEing like a little fangirl all of the time; this man knows how to make me happy and I am hooked!

The thing is, it's not about sex! (Not about the thing in the thing, as it were) It's (mostly) about him opening a big ol' can of whupass - and me just enjoying myself.

Sorry about this post... I'm just SO happy I want the world to know!

*) Well, in all honesty: I asked for it, I think.

Happy - wearing his chain.

Awwww! :adore:
Congratulations!

As to clicking quickly, I tend to do that. I make fast friends. I can meet, like and befriend someone in a single evening, sometimes in a single handshake. It all depends upon how I "read" that person, and no, I don't think there's anything wrong with that at all.

Here's to many happy days!

^Thanks :)

Thanks a lot.

But, seeing a person for the very first time and instantly knowing they're good people... I implicitly trusted this guy the moment I laid eyes on him!!!

Here's to many happy days!
Thanks, hoping for years:p

It makes me very happy to hear you're giddy. Giddy really is awesome. :)

Congrats, trekkiedane. It's great to see you so happy. :)

I don't know how "normal" it is, but it does happen. It happened to me, twenty-six years ago. It just took an instant of eye contact and the world was a different place. We were only together for about four years and I haven't heard from her since 2010 or so, but she's still with me every day. She still manages to sneak into my poetry after all this time. She pretty much became part of my DNA. :mallory:

Congrats! I am happy for you. Something similar happened to me last year. I typically have a difficult time connecting with or trusting anyone, but I met this guy on a dating site, we started chatting on the phone, and within a week we had met each other in person and knew it was an instant connection! The infatuation stage has died down for us now, but we are still very much in love. It's a good feeling, savor it!

So heartwarming, thanks everyone

And thank you too, for the real life stories!

No news here though... I'm still just over-the-top happy :p

It may be a different drummer, but the music is just fabulous

Thanks a lot.

Love is a precious, yet rare commodity. I'm always happy when someone finds it.

I've done that. There are a handful of people in this world who have my complete trust, and I've never met them face to face. Sometimes bonds form quickly and last forever.

Thanks, hoping for years:p
I'm sorry if I only have a One-A-Day calendar! :wah: *runs out of the thread*

The long(ish) distance/only meet every other weekend -thing is killing me though. But the almost explosive high from when we actually set a date is all the better for it :rommie:

Needless to say: I have plans this coming week-end.

Congratulations, trekkiedane, that's awesome! And, who cares how normal it is as long as you're happy! Although, I don't think it is unusual at all. :techman:
