Do I need a birthday?

Thespeckledkiwi

Vice Admiral
The more I look at my birth record and the more I try to put pieces together, the more horribly confused I get because nothing make sense, including my birthday. I mean I can safely say I was born in 1983...and around the spring time, around May but I don't trust my birth record at all. So can I simply put the year and the month but not the day on documents? I don't list what race I am (most of the time) and for birth place, it's usually just South Korea because after being told I was born in Seoul for so long, we came to find out, oops. I was born in a county hospital outside of the Seoul city and somewhere in the providence, but not the city itself.

Just pick a day and run with it. Post war Korea is full of nebulous birthdays and family records.

Technically, each year my birthday falls on a different day. It's become a running joke in my family because my birthday gets pushed into June and July. Last year we didn't even really celebrate it

I'm sure that just picking a day is way more convenient than explaining why you don't know your exact birth day every time you're asked about it. But if you have proof of in which hospital you were born, can't you find out when that happened too?

Possibly. If that hospital is still around ><. Problem is, they have no effing clue what happened...it's actually pretty funny.

And after the -um- problems with the X-Rays they had, I don't think I trust their records.

Anyway, if you can't find out for sure, just pick a day and stick to it.

I'd choose May 1st if I were you, that's a beautiful birthday.
[myself, I barely avoided getting born on April 20th, which was the day the doctors had calculated, but I decided I didn't want to share my birthday with Adolf. ;)]

I usually just pick May 8th, tell people to not celebrate my birthday than and then move it to another day  It confuses people.

May 1st scares me for some odd reason.

You're birthday is officially on May 16th, ok?

Or at least in my books, which is all that matters.

Personally, I think May 1st is a great birthday. :D

When my uncle started researching the family tree, he found out that not only was my grandfather's birthday wrong, but his birth year was wrong. :rommie: I wouldn't worry about it. Just pick something you like and stick with it.
