DMG purchases movie rights to Sanderson's Cosmere novels

That is excellent! However I'm not sure it's a good idea for them to start with The Way of Kings. There are supposed to eventually be ten books in that set, and if he continues to write one every three or four years, he won't finish them until the 2030's or so. I think it would make more sense for them to start with the first Mistborn trilogy. Still, I'll be first in line for tickets when The Way of Kings comes to theaters.
 
Nice. There are better ways to launch a cinematic "Cosmere" universe than The Way of Kings and Mistborn, though. Elantris or Warbreaker would be simpler options and don't risk failing to live up to expectations either financially or creatively.

I do have to dispute Variety's reporting about how much of Sanderson's works actually make up the "Cosmere", as only 10 of his currently published novels, 3 currently published novellas, and one currently published short story are actually set in that universe, which amounts to about 14 published works out of everything he's written to date.
