Disturb someone in the middle of this filling meal

Does anyone remember the episode where theres a Klingon trying to overthrow the Klingon government.

He sits at a table in the dark and a Klingon messenger burst in telling him news. He tells the messenger what kind "idiot" would disturb a "man" in the middle of this filling meal. Then the room lights up and there a huge long table filled with food the Klingon is going to eat by himself.

He asks Picard for asylum after his plans a foiled and Picard says yes I will give you asylum after these terrible accusations are cleared.

The Minds Eye, where Geordi is brainwashed to murder Klingon governor Vagh. Kell is eating in one scene, but I'm not sure he says anything about being disturbed, and he asks Picard for asylum after he's been found out.

Stupidly, I thought OP meant that the dinner and asking for asylum were the same scene. I shouldn't post sleepy. :ack:

Interesting, how the meal is described as being filling ... not nutritious, tasty, or even satisfying. How has this culinary experience been quantified, I guess I'm asking ...

This sounds similar to a scene in Babylon 5 when G'Kar is trying to eat his meal and is being interrupted. Possible it's getting confused with Star Trek?

I love this plucky poster. He/she has spunk.

Winner of best thread title this year.

I thought he was threatening us..goading us..like do it, do it!!

I have so many questions! Like why would someone fixate on this scene? I'm fixated on knowing.

RAMA

I thought it was some kind of deconstructivist polemic against bullying Trekkies.

Or his wife wouldn't let him watch Trek during dinner....

It's the most insidious form of trolling: The title leads us to believe it's spam, so we click on it, to find that it is actually TNG related, so we comment on the title, not on anything to do with TNG, making us the spammers.

To outwit this, I add: I think it was Na'Toth in Babylon 5 who kept interrupting G'Kar's meal in "The Parliment of Dreams."

Wait, that was Babylon 5 related, not TNG related! I'm a terrible person!

Spam by proxy? How dishonourable.

In other news I thought The Mind's Eye was excellent.

I think it's possible there may be some conflating of two different scenes in the OP. In "The Mind's Eye", in the scene where Kell is eating, it's actually LaForge who arrives, not a Klingon messenger, and he doesn't berate LaForge for interrupting him... Kell seems to actually be expecting LaForge, with the implication being that Kell summoned him.
