Disney's Howard the Duck reboot.

It's been hinted and lightly touched on but with talking Racoons appearing in later Marvel movies, how long until Howard gets another chance on the big screen?

"Howard the Duck is a beloved character with a rich history in Marvel's comic book world, so it makes perfect sense that he takes center stage in our first co-production between Lucasfilm and Marvel Studios." - Disney CEO Bob Iger
"I think it's time for the 'Howard the Duck' reboot that nobody expects," Joss Whedon joked when asked by Yahoo! Movies which other Marvel Universe characters he would like to take a crack at when he's finished with the sequel to the biggest superhero movie of all-time.
With Disney owning Marvel, couldn't they make a Pixar animated movie featuring all of the superheroes with Howard being the focus?

Howard seems a bit "too adult" for a kids Pixar movie.

Seeing how badly Lucas mangled the original movie adaptation (though I remember as a kid enjoying it) I think it would be interesting if they redid it properly... although adapting it to kid-friendly might be pointless in neutering him (possibly literally, I only know of him in infamy) and making it more adult will be tricky. How do you get adults to watch a movie about a talking anthropromorphic duck and not think it's a kids movie?

^Tell that to Rocket Racoon in the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy movie.

I think Pixar's been trying to get into more adult oriented movies. Howard the Duck would be a perfect movie to start with.

I want Howard to be in the Netflix "Defenders" series.

I want Howard in a scene with SLJ's Nick Fury.

I want to see Howard make a pass at Maria Hill.

I want to see Howard give Thanos the middle... wing tip?

I want Phil Coulson to say, "Huh".

I want to see Tony Stark build the the "Iron Duck" armor.

I want to see Howard team up with Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley and whoever it is that Gene dresses up as Ace Frehley and Peter Criss these days.

Oh yes, that's what I want. All that and more...:)

Maybe WB should abandon their current plans and start working on Superman vs. Muhammad Ali....

Hopefully it will involve the return of Turnip Man, Garden-Fresh Guardian of the Good.

Too counter culture. Too surreal. Too imaginative. Generation Hipster wouldn't get him.

They need a Squirrel Girl movie.

Wouldn't that be the shortest movie in history?

Five seconds into the movie she has beaten the Big Bad into a pulp... off screen. :guffaw:
It could be the set up to Howard. City Park SG is doing her thing then a giant beastie comes along. SG rushes toward it, we switch to the screaming fleeing citizens a bit then come back to SG and the badly beaten beastie where SG gives a safety warning about looking both ways before crossing the street. Then on to Howard.

Big spoiler about an appearance of Howard in an upcoming Marvel movie...

Howard will be seen after the credits of Guardians of the Galaxy.

Is Howard too counter-culture for this day and age? If they ever did it I'd suspect another silly animal movie.

It looks like they're going for it anyway.
