But then again, this could lead to some PRIME TIME MARVEL shows on tv again. It has been a very very long time since we've had a weekly Marvel show on the air. Hulk was the last one right?
I mean let's look at this from a couple ends. First... ABC is owned by Disney. They air a LOT of non- "family friendly" programming. I would hardly call shows like Desperate Housewives, Brothers and Sisters, Grey's Anatomy "kid friendly". So this could mean that they could do an Iron Man weekly show if they really wanted to, and feature a womanizing, drinking, ass kicking Tony Stark and Iron Man and still be sitting pretty in prime time. I am sure if you offered RDJr enough money, he'd do a weekly. Or you could even do a weekly Spider-Man series on prime time and not have it suck. The SFX are up to the job now. No more crawling "up" a floor.
So we could see some of the "classic" stories and storylines come to life on the small screen in a way we never really could before. Plus it would give Marvel a chance to really really compete directly against DC in a way they couldn't. Imagine a Pixar created Fantastic Four movie that dealt with all the wild and cosmic stuff? I know the Incredibles were basically the FF meets the Watchmen, but could you imagine the Incredibles with all the interstellar stuff of Wall-E? Or just downright bizarre?
We wouldn't get shit like Iron Man-Boy that looks like good flash animation, but still flash animation.
As for the comics, I don't see Disney really getting THAT involved in the publishing end, but I could see them expanding the Marvel Adventures line of comics so they have something they can sell in the parks.
Kids need more paper crack. Get comic books in stores again! They need to be warped like all of us adults were!
