That doesn't help you at the moment, joyofvgr, but your time may yet come. I never believed all my ST wishes would come true.
Thanks,
Therin. I know. I'm sure
Lynx feels the same way about Kes too.
Well, when it comes to Kes, I've given up. I have the feeling that future stories about her will only mess things up even more since everyone involved with writing seems so bound by the canon crap from the series, about "Fury" and that "old-Kes-goes-back-to-Ocampa" rubbish. That's not what I want to see when it comes to the character. If I want to read a really good Kes story, then I write it myself.
As for Janeway, I still have hope!

Well, the lifespan and procreation of Ocampa was just so ridiculous in the way it was presented, I just tried to ignore all that.
The same here, I simply ignored it which was actually easy since it was seldom mentioned in the series. It did seem to be forgotten even by the writers themselves.

I have seen the posts by Kristen Beyer both here and at ST.com. I have a feeling that she did put it all back together again. The problem is that knowing it will end with the ultimate demise of my favorite Captain is heartbreaking for me. So much so, that I'm not sure I can bring myself to read her novel. I just have to wait and see what others have to say about it. Sorry. It's just the way I feel. I'm not trying to be spiteful in anyway.
I agree here as well. As I've mentioned before, I'm not that happy with the current development of Star Trek. If the future policy is to kill off the main characters, then you can count me out from everything considering "official Star Trek". But I guess that the interest for the whole phenomenon will stay, I've been a fan for too long now. I have to settle with bits and pieces, such as re-watching the old episodes and read and write fan-fiction.
