Discovery Season 4 - Filming

I told my wife Discovery was shooting season four next month. Her response, “when are we getting Lower Decks season two”.

Much earlier than Discovery season 4. Animated shows are not as impacted by covid. Discovery season 3 was supposed to be on CBS AA before Lower Decks but Lower Decks finished earlier. And that was with both shows being in post production. The production part will be even faster for the animated shows as the actors can do their job from home. Lower Decks is already doing season 2, they said a while ago that the writing of it was done.

Im not sure if thats really Star Trek: Strange New Worlds or just a series called Strange New World

Yep - and remember, behind the scenes they've been actively working to get the series up and running since ST: D S2; and they have the principle ship sets and uniforms, and a good bit of the 'current 23rd century already set up - so it was more - "Okay, what stories do we want to tell here..." (IE - No need for a lot of extra design or background discussion - they're leapfrogging using the 'Universe' built in the first 2 seasons of ST: D.)
