Discovery is losing me in Season 3, anyone else?

I care about them in that they're people and I don't want to see them hurt, but I am obviously far more invested in characters that...are characters.

Tomlinson was a guest star in one episode, not some one who was supposed to be a cast member...and he still probably got more lines of dialogue than half the bridge crew in the entirety of season 1.
Then I think we are at agree to disagree point. The number of lines means little to me.

ETA: Well, since no one else posted I will add some more.

I did some quick research and discovered something interesting: Tomlinson had no lines of dialog in the episode. Yet his death is still the coda of the episode. No lines, yet he still stands out in my mind as a person worth sympathizing with.

Rhys stands out to me even in small interactions with Lorca. It doesn't take lines to impress upon me these characters. Call it reading too much in to it, call it overthinking, or whatever, but I find them engaging.

I think you or someone else made the comment a while back that this may get better now that Burnham is captain. Since the show follows her around and she will presumably be on the bridge more, we may see more interactions with and development of the bridge crew.

It will be interesting to see what happens. The Burnham character has always been more action oriented in the past, so having her being first officer and running point on the away missions seemed like a natural fit with that. I wonder if her being captain will result in more scenes on the bridge and her being less of an action hero.

I mean, Kirk was the action hero and the captain. So I think that Burnham will get more of the Kirk on the Bridge treatment.

Ah, modern streaming TV and social media... We get these kind of reactions, hard knee jerk.

Some people did do this during Berman Trek, but the seasons were longer then. So yeah, imagine if people jumped ship from a whole season?
