Was it shot in 4k? What about the FX, was it rendered in 4k?
Most movies these days are still mastered in 2k, so it's likely Discovery is a 2k master as well. However, I think I read somewhere that Netflix requires 4k? So, not sure.

Resolution is only one aspect of picture quality. In comparison with physical media, streaming video is jittery and doesn't have quite as good color depth. It better be 4K, otherwise what’s the point. Anyone can rewatch 1080p at anytime online.
I agree 100%. Recently, I moved my Bluray from our 'Bonus Room' (where it was gathering dust) down to our Living Room and hooked it up. Watching Rouge One and The Last Jedi, I was impressed how much better the video quality was over Netflix and Amazon Streaming feeds. Much better color, no loss in clarity during high motion action sequences, better audio ... and the list goes on. Blurays are far better in my option, over streaming when it comes to picture and soundResolution is only one aspect of picture quality. I actually am thankful when internet goes down. (not often with Comcast around these parts, go figureI just like knowing I actually have a thing. If the internet goes down (and with the crazy weather we've had lately, it will), I can still watch my movies.
Hoping it’s out before the holidays in the US. I have many people on my list who will get a season 1 Blu-ray...
I also have not seen a full episode of Star Trek: Discovery aside from the pilot episode, The Vulcan Hello. If CBS and Paramount won't release this show, they're no better than the Ferengi.I've been waiting for the blu-ray. I still haven't seen a single episode.
No. The DVDs for the Walking Dead shows don't include Talking Dead.Think they'll include 'After Trek' ?
