I'm fairly sure that Sky One did air it back in the mid-90s, at around 8pm on Tuesday or Wednesday nights, as I remember watching it with my brother and sister. They probably should have aired it on Sunday nights after The Simpsons, but they made the same mistake with Futurama years later. For years I had no idea that the Simpsons episode "A Star is Burns" was actually a crossover with another series, The Critic, no matter how much it tipped its hand in that general direction. This is probably because the Critic never aired on Sky One, which is where the Simpsons were run endlessly on British TV, and where it did air on British TV I have basically no idea.
I remembered liking the show, but I used to like a lot of shows as a child that I can't stand now, so I didn't think about it much. All I really remembered from it was the phrase "You talk too much, talking cat", which was a frequently used catchphrase in our house for a while. But, much like you, I saw some clips from the show on YouTube a few years ago, thought they were very funny and gave the show another shot. It really is very good. When the show was on form, it was up there with the best of The Simpsons. And when it had a bad episode, it was still better than the best of modern Simpsons.

These days I randomly post clips from the show in the hope that others will discover this gem the same way I did. Like I'm doing right now.
