For those wondering, it was a science fiction bookstore. The outside of the building, on three sides, was a giant space scene with Romulan and Klingon ships, faces, wormholes and other awesome paintings. Now, it's plain old tan.
I drove by there this weekend, and the sign has been replaced by one for an auto parts store.Mary's is still over on Maple, the north side, up by that pharmacy just west of 72nd Street. Or at least she was a few months back.
I do. I won't stop in to that Quiznos which has replaced it. One of the agreements they made when they bought the building was to leave the mural on the outside alone. As soon as they took ownership, they painted over it.Do you remember Star Realm in La Vista? Or was that before your time?
