Dinner at Quark's

So Rofeta, you don't think males are capable of intelligent conversation?
And how and why is the future going to be so amazing?

Never said males aren't capable of intelligent conversation. You on the other hand made it clear that you don't think "babes" are.

It is the future, we're on a space station in another star system having dinner in a establishment run by an alien. I'd say that classifies as amazing. Then you have all the aliens and the technology such as transporters, replicators, holodecks, ftl travel, etc. Again amazing.

I apologise unreservedly to all the clever beautiful women out there. I was just teasing Refeta. I wouldn't mind the replicators, very handy, but have you ever seen anybody doing the washing up? The place must be a mess! But I would be, like Dr Polaski, a bit wary of transporters! It would be nice to practice my Klingon though. wIj jup.

^ Good to know.

You can't wash up if you don't have a kitchen sink. In an episode of DS9 we saw that dirty plates just get put back into the replicator and reduces to atoms, which I guess would be used for the replication of other items.

As for the transporter, I'd give it a go just to see what the experience was like. It's a bit like driving a car, I know there is great danger behind doing it but it doesn't stop me from doing it.

I would certainly take advantage of this thread to have dinner with some of the Fascinating women from the world of Star Trek.
IE.

Zarabeth (from Tomorrow is Yesterday TOS)
Andrea
T'pol
The Kelvin Drea
ISIS (Cat woman from assignment earth)
Lwaxana Troi

Jadzia Dax would be 'on call' in case one of the others passed out ;)

Kirk, Spock, McCoy, Janeway, Kira, Sisko, Bashir, Odo, Garak, Dukat (pre-nuttiness), Damar, Weyoun, Martok, Trip Tucker and Phlox.

And nobody is allowed to try to kill anyone else. :klingon: The gagh will accomplish that on its own.
Uh, it's a table for SIX. So whose lap do you get to sit on? ;)

Rofeta, now I definately want a replicator, I hate washing up!
JM1776, I'll stick to a runabout too!
Captain Leslie, I'll make it so. Well as soon as I make Captain.
Temis, I'll have to double the price if you want a double table.

Great idea for a thread! We always do the "if you could have dinner with any 5 people in history, not related to you, who would you dine with?"... as for me and my guests at Quarks... it would be:
Sisko, Janeway, Archer, Trip, and Riker, I think.

Ok, off on a tangent.... from history. Dining at Amberley Castle, West Sussex, over beef Wellington and Claret. I would invite; Oliver Reed, Emily Pankhurst, Bill Hicks, Cleopatra and Ghehis Khan. Should be interesting!

I'd ask Quark to let us pull up another table, and I'd ask him to join me and my guests: Q and the TNG crew.

I would choose:

Myself
McCoy
Spock
Uhura
Captain Janeway
Seven of Nine

Because I personally consider those characters to likely be the most interesting dinner companions. And we would not be eating Klingon food.

And if I could have a seventh person, I'd choose the Leonardo daVinci hologram -- because of John Rhys-Davies.

Timewalker, I could always ask Quark to rustle up a shepherds pie? I do like the idea of a Leo daVinci hologram though. May be a bit too serious?

There would have to be vegetarian dishes for Spock, and something holographic for Leonardo.

And no, I don't think he'd be too serious, not as portrayed by John Rhys-Davies.

Cauliflower cheese? I'm afraid that's the extent of my vegetarian recipes! And some holographic linguine with mussels and swordfish for Leo.
I'm glad I don't have my own restaurant!
Cheese on toast or cheese on toast with ketchup?

BTW, not meaning to sound totally naive, but who is John Rhys-Davies?

Rhys-Davies performed the holographic Leonardo DaVinci in two episodes of Voyager. He's a pretty prolific actor who is best know to mainstream audiences as Gimli in the Lord of the Rings trilogy.

Dane, Ahh, thank you. I am truely only an ensign! But learning! As a wise person I am full of doubts.

I would guess that plomeek soup is vegetarian. Honestly, I'd offer Spock a Greek pizza without the meat. Lots of different kinds of cheese, olives, tomatoes, spinach... yum!

Did you ever see I, Claudius? He played Macro (the Praetorian Guard who offed Sejanus, Patrick Stewart's character). He was also Professor Arturo in Sliders. I recently saw him (again) as Vasco Rodrigues in Shogun (the 8-hour version).

He's Welsh, and has been in a wide variety of TV shows and movies, as well as Shakespeare. He's also done a lot of voices in animated movies and TV shows.
