Dieting

Something quite random.

I'm currently on a diet (Cambridge Weight Plan, in case anyone is interested) trying to lose weight. I started off at 295 lbs and have lost around 45 lbs and am still wanting to lose more, but have plateaued for a while now. Though I still want to lose more, I'm no longer as miserable as I used to be so my motivation has ebbed.

Anyone else been in the same position? Any advice on how to kick start my drive to keep losing?

Excellent progress! From personal experience, I would suggest pairing it with a lot of exercise, both aerobic and strength training. Jack LaLanne said, "Exercise is king, nutrition is queen; put 'em together, and you've got a kingdom."

Disclaimer: Please consult with your physician before starting a diet and/or exercise routine, engaging in strenuous physical activity, blah blah blah.

I have been 10,000 steps a day for the last year. I lost almost 10 kilos (gone from 83 Kg to 73kg or from about 182lbs to 160lb) but now I plan to make changes to my diet - not actually dieting - just eating more wisely. I hope to get down to about 68kg.

Just burn more calories than you consume, and do that for hundreds of consecutive days.

It's no more difficult that smoking cessation.

BTW... where did you go, OP?

Change up your exercise program. I've been trying to do 12,000 steps per day, but I hit a plateau and started adding pushups using a 100 push-ups app, that change broke my plateau. Starting in August, I'm also going to go back to swimming laps. I really believe that if the nutrition is dialed in, then incorporating different types of exercises will help.
