What's wrong with mineral water anyway?
The fact that it's a massive con and you're paying more for water (usually from the same source as the local mains wherever its bottled) than an equivalent amount of petrol? I can't see why anyone who lives in a country where the tap water is safe to drink would have any use for bottled water in normal life.
Well, a lot of tap water tastes just plain nasty. I have to filter mine, otherwise I can barely tolerate the taste.
The tap water in Budapest was glorious, though.
I don't think there is any reason to buy those silly little bottles of water for $1.25-2.50 a pop, though. Around here, I can buy a gallon of plain distilled water for under a dollar, if I really need to. There's also the whole environmental impact of those billions of plastic bottles. Even if they are recyclable, wouldn't it make much more sense for people to use directly reusable containers?
My workplace phased out buying bottled water and disposable cups, instead giving us all plastic tumblers to use for coffee and water.
