Didn't Understand about People Calling Janeway Bipolar Until Scorpion

Re: Didn't Understand about People Calling Janeway Bipolar Until Scorp

Just watched "Prey".
Definitely one of the better episodes of voyager, everything made sense except Janeways decision to sacrifice the crew in order to send a dying 8472 - she already killed thousands of them by allying with the borg, and here where the ship itself is in danger; she scolds Seven for being prudent and saving the ship. The whole bullsh*t about being compassion and meaning him no harm was laughable considering her recent history.

"One death is a tragedy; a million deaths is a statistic."

Stalin/Janeway

Most other SF captains had the rest of the fleet to fall back on... Voyager, not so much.

Not really usually they were in the only ship in the sector.

There's a big difference between 'the only ship in the sector' and 'the only ship within tens of thousands of ly's'.

The Enterprise could at least count on SF to be at their location on a relatively small time frame... much shorter compared to what it would take SF to send backup to Voyager (that is if you take into account the whole messup with Warp drive being ridiculously slow).

This episode made me like Chakotay a lot more. He's willing to set aside their grand mission and just focus on survival. Picard would draw the line here if he heard about these events. I wonder why he's so friendly toward her in the movies.

Re: Didn't Understand about People Calling Janeway Bipolar Until Scorp

Lets just explain this one more time.

Internally in any one episode, Janeway does not seem to act bipolar/crazy.

However, comparing "some" different episodes side by side, because of writing, direction and production, Janeway's morality and reasoning faculties can seen as inconsistent.

Different people are writing her, so they write her differently.

Going back to the original post.

WoTe used to share his username with his wife.

Two people who may dissagree on some subjects, might like some of us and hate others of us, refering to their gender truthfully, acting under a single umbrella identity. Whosoever this old user identity was, "it" would have possibly seemed bipolar sometimes or forgetful, depending on who was driving "it" at any one time and the relationships "it" was forming with the rest of us who were foolishly thinking that "it" was one person with one mind and not one username with two minds with different tactics and agendas.

But that's obvious.

Sorry.
