Funnily enough, I've always thought the same thing, except with drinking alcohol instead of learning stuff.
I learned that my work cafeteria closes over New Year's Day. Guess I'll need to make my own sandwiches that day. 
i learned that my supervisor doesn't know Bravestarr (being as she's a 46 year-old woman, this isn't MUCH of a surprise) and that there are some incredibly bone-headed people around.*
* guy comes in my shop. comes to the counter, looks at his new O2 mobile top-up card, shows it to me, and asks if he can use it. it's got a sticker on the front saying 'Activate before use'. I said have you activated it? he said no. so i said 'no'. what a moron...

Today I learned, from careful study of the various public transit maps, that if I'm willing to walk 1 mile each direction, I can cut the cost of my commute to 50 cents/day.
Much better than gas/wear-n-tear on my aging car, and much better than the $5.00/day it takes to commute via the more popular metro system.
I'm learning every day how to be frugal.

I learnt that there is a way to fiddle the system a touch to issue out courtesy phones, and if you put "Manager's Discretion" on as a reason for issuing out a courtesy phone without sending a phone off for repair, it means I won't get in trouble for it being under my log in.

Something I learnt today
Iceland doesn't have any species of native ants.
I wish the same was true for Tasmania. Not only do we have one of the deadliest ants in the world here, but my house has a real problem with little pissants and they are really beginning to annoy me big time.

We have a new cable channel! The MLB Network! Which doesn't require a subscription to an extra programming tier for me to get! W00T!!!!

Today, I learned what a wonderful feeling it is to let go of anger. Hopefully, I won't forget this lesson.
Yesterday, I learned there is someone working for AT&T in Ohio who saw me a website, accessed my cellphone number and told me that even though he knows I'm not homosexual, that he wanted to contact me to tell me that I was absolutely gorgeous.

i learned the titles of ST Vanguard book 5 and ST Titan book 6 and Myriad Universes book 3, the later of which is being delayed until 2010 and the next SCE trade won't be out until december 2010.
Ah, I just learned there will be a fifth Vanguard book.
