It's true. Basic photography experience and the Cold War are certainly arguments in favor of Jesus.

Well what I meant, just to give you an example, is that many christians might use the documented history of the Apostles dying for whom they believed was the Son of God, and someone will come in and shout "yeah that's a bunch of BS". The same argument is being used in favour of the moon landing in the form of "Well, it's easier to LAND on the moon than it is to cover it up". Well I don't see people accepting that logic when it comes to something like Jesus.

Anyway I don't want to turn this into a religious thread, but I felt I had to point out the irony of this.

I'm not sure I see the comparison. Most of the pro-moon arguments amount to pointing out how ridiculously flimsy the anti-moon arguments are. What with the burden of proof being on the accuser, that's pretty much good enough.

Don't care to turn this religious either, though. Some people take the whole thing too seriously as it is.

Well, getting back on topic, I do believe we went there, but there may be a possibility in my mind that at least the first couple of missions (the ones with the grainy footage) were possibly fakes, with the remaining true landings the time when they pulled out the good footage as this was "real"

I love how most of the arguments used in favour of the landing on the moon are the same ones ridiculed when people who believe in Jesus use them in favour of that belief lol.

Don't talk crap. Many atheists will happily acknowledge the historical evidence that Jesus did live, that he was crucified by the Romans, and so on. Though of course this same historical evidence suggests he was born in May, and so on...

This does not provide evidence in any way shape or form that Jesus was the son of God or that God even exists.

I'm not saying he is/was not - but very few informed people in the modern age have such a narrow view of Christianity and it's history.

For the record I believe NASA did land on the moon in 1969. One thing that has always bothered me though is why has Neil Armstrong always been so secretive afterwards? Like he knew he was a fake and ran away from the spotlight because of it. Or what other reason could there be?

Because he is an intelligent and capable man and does not want to become part of the USA's vile celebrity culture? Especially as unlike most celebrities he actually achieved something!

Of course it is so unbelivable that the technology to send TV pictures 300,000 miles improved drastically after the first couple of attempts!

It's not possible to fake any of the missions even with today's technology.

Onus is those making the claim, to produce such a convincing fake. Don't forget the rocks.

One thing against the "rock with a C" thing, why would they take a picture of something that could prove it was a hoax and then show it off everywhere? And why would there be wind inside an enclosed set?

He's a quiet person and doesn't like to brag.

I head Armstrong was gonna come forward, so they "shut him up".

I saw that. Maybe. Or it could have been a re-run of "Capricorn One"...

Neil Armstrong is a tall black man that looks a lot like
O.J. Simpson, right?

Beat me to it, AG. :)

That should be interesting to watch.

Of course, I fully expect the die hards to claim that Jamie and Adam are somehow "in on it" and were paid to confirm the government's assertions (if they do, haven't seen it yet).

um.... we measure the distance from earth-moon by bouncing a laser from earth to mirrors that WE left up there...

lol... this is how we know the moon is moving away from the earth ....

Tombfyre, that's not good enough to convince one here, he cites some Japanese experiment where they couldn't tell if they were bouncing off the reflectors or the lunar surface.

My guess is the Japanese equipment needed to tighten it's annular confinement (score one for the LaForge Techno-Babble matrix!) in order to hit only the target, or the poster in question needs to loosen his so something can pop out...

T minus 1:50:00 till Myth-Off!
