Did we land on moon?

Yeah..I know, its that dreaded question again. But its been sometime since some one polled on this.

While at work today, and bored to death, I stumbled upon several conspiracy pages. You know the usual suspects; Who shot JFK-9/11-UFOS-Pearl Harbor-Death of Kenny, and of course..several pages that dispute we even landed on the moon.

They dispute if for many reasons, but I liked these;
We can barely put the shuttle in space, and yet we used Korean War technology to land on the moon...

We've done it nearly 120 times.

The space shuttle is 1975 era technology basically.

The Apollo program was 1965 era technology.

The difference isn't that great. Apollo was on the cutting edge of the time.

The shuttle is not by any means.

The assumption that all of it was just a conspiracy raises some questions though.

For example, what do we make of Apollo 13 then? Was this near-catastrophe also faked by NASA to add a bit of drama/authenticity to the program? Or was only Apollo 11 (and maybe 12) a fake and 13 was the first real (and failed) attempt at a moon landing?

At least some of the Apollo landings must have been real, otherwise you can't really explain what NASA did with all the money. The Apollo program had a budget of several dozen billions of dollars, I think. Faking moon landings surely doesn't cost that much money. So, where exactly did it went? Was it secretly transferred to the Pentagon through some back channels so that it could be spend on black ops missions in South East Asia?

The reason I think we really went is because the Russians certainly had the technology to tell them where those signals were coming from...If no one was up there and they were in, arizona, then were the messages being broadcasted from arizona to houston? Or were they being beamed to the moon and back? Or were they recorded??

All I know is that the russians should have known...as for the 'shadows' being wrong in some of the photos, that is interesting...but not a barn-burner IMO..

Especially given the competition at the time: the Soviet Union. I think it's pretty plausible to say that their dudes SCRUTINIZED the hell out of the Apollo program.

Um, yes, we've been there several times. Are you asking Did we land on the moon in 1969, i.e. the first moon landing? Or are you asking if we never even made the other landings after that? Cause we've been there more than once.

There is no real evidence against it, and a lot of very solid evidence for it. Anyone who believes we did not land on the moon is simply uninformed and unreasonably suspicious of NASA's accomplishments.

Honestly I have no patience for this at all. The people who trot out "evidence" about the Moon landing being faked generally seem to have little or no knowledge of photography, physics or the Lunar environment.

There's a nice website backed by NASA that pisses on the conspiracy people's nonsense very well. It's worth checking out just to tell any bonehead you encounter who believes it because they read it on the internet to F.O.

Anyway, I wonder why there are not more conspiracy theories going in the opposite direction... Apollo missions which did take place, but were covered up for some reason. Does anyone remember the low-budget trash movie "Moontrap" starring Walter Keonig and Bruce Campbell?
