Did Voyager Just Fail to Adapt The Changing Landscape of Televsion

I think it's morphine that Sherlock Holmes injects himself with to relax between mysteries.

He dabbled with both cocaine and morphine (with a definite preference for cocaine), but when he once tried opium that didn't take with him at all.

All this stuff stands out to us right now in the 'enlightened' 21st century, but as Guy correctly points out above, many of these now illegal drugs were perfectly legal at one time or another before their effects became known. Holmes has become a sort of poster boy for that because the character has transcended his original time.

They were legal as rich people drugs, they only became illegal when the poor started doing them as well. It's an economic principle, the poor are the ones that actually make things, if their efficiency declines, the rich suffer, and we can't have that, can we?

Breaking Bad should have been about desperate, Ferengi-type aliens on a rogue asteroid making death sticks. Then it would have achieved teacake greatness.

Breaking Bad respects Star Trek, so why can't you respect Breaking Bad?

My breaking bad (never shut up about it) friends aren't into Trek but believe anything (no matter how small) associated with breaking bad is awesome so when I pointed out that Q was in it, they kind of nodded like respectful sheep who had just discovered something deeply profound

That's the breaking bad fan. They move in herds

30something year olds with lives, work, children and relationships only have time to watch 1 TV show on purpose.

Move shit around, and abstain from certain events, to make sure that nothing is missed.

(I think in old terms. DVD box sets & legal streaming/on demand services mean that you don't have to ignore weddings and funerals anymore.)

The rest of the time "these people" view 2 or three non consecutive hours of television an evening, but certainly not every evening, watching randomly whatever might be on, with no forewarning or care what it is that might be on when they sit down.

Breaking Bad finished a million years ago, they need to find something new to obsess on.

I think Game of Thrones and OINTB get obsessed about far more than Better Call Saul.

A million years ago? It was like two years, and dude, you're posting on a STAR TREK message board. I would think your obsession window is longer than two years. :)

1 year, 5 months.

Last night on Suits the Ginger Secretary and the caramel paralegal were having a conversation about boys...

"No, he didn't say that I looked like Khaleesi, he said I looked like her Translator, do you think I look like Khaleesi's translator?"

"Oh, you are so much hotter ...He's a Throner?"

OMG do I have to explain everything?!!!

A rogue asteroid is obviously a dirty ass little unpredictable shit of an asteroid with lots of caves in it perfect for hiding death stick labs. It does what it wants and offers nothing useful to the law abiding.

^ It was obvious to me, teacake.

I like "Throner" as term, mainly because it rhymes with boner, which I have a huge one for ASOIAF/GoT.

A dragqueen just used "this" as an alibi on Backstrom

"I was binge watching the 2nd season of Homeland the day Jenna was killed."

But that's exactly the point of the DVD Boxset generation.

They pick a show, watch 80 episodes and then move on to the next.

They don't watch new shows, and some don't even watch incomplete shows that have yet to be cancelled.

It's all about spending a month watching something from beginning to end.
